The ship’s Master, responsible for the entire ship, its crew and cargo. All persons on board are under the Captain’s authority. A high-grade, licensed mariner who oversees the ship’s safe, efficient operation, including: ship’s seaworthiness, safety and security, cargo operations, navigation, crew management, and ensuring the vessel complies with local and international laws, and company and flag-state policies.
