Helps senior engineers maintain and repair engine room, fireroom, machine ship, ice-machine room, and steering/engine-room equipment – in other words, all parts of the ship. Also known as an Unlicensed Junior Engineer, a QMED is a senior unlicensed crewmember in the engine room of a ship – an exciting start to a marine engineering career onboard ships.
